Knox Country (formerly known as Knox County) is a partially fictional area where the events of Project Zomboid take place.

Description[]

Project Zomboid is based in the fictional Knox Country, Kentucky, KY. It has a few locations loosely based on their real life counterparts, such as Muldraugh, Louisville, and West Point. There are several small towns scattered in between as well. You can use this map to find certain locations. You can zoom in and out, look at modded locations, and look at the 2nd level of buildings.

History[]

Prior to the events of Project Zomboid, residents reported of a awful smell coming from the area prior to the first reports of the Knox infection.

Project Zomboid[]

As residents began succumbing to the Knox infection and reanimating as zombies, the military began setting up a quarantine zone around the area, preventing anyone from entering or leaving, in a effort to contain the infection, though they also tried to contain any information about the virus true nature, trying to convince the general public outside the area that the infection was nothing more than a fever.

Trivia[]

  • Knox Country was previously called Knox County, which was renamed in 2013 after the original map was scrapped and remade.
